Keegan's future in doubt
Despite varying reports concerning the situation at Newcastle United and their manager Kevin Keegan, the issue is yet to be resolved as the club claims that he has not left the club and that talks are currently undergoing. The club released a statement that read “Newcastle United Football Club can confirm that discussions are ongoing between the board and Kevin Keegan. Both the club and Kevin would like to reiterate that Kevin remains as manager. He has not resigned nor has he been sacked, as has been confirmed in respective statements made by Kevin and Newcastle United Football Club.”

End of fairytale for Curbishley
West Ham’s manager Alan Curbishley announced his resignation to overtake Kevin Keegan as the first casualty for managers in the English Premier League. This came in light over the past few weeks where there has been some problems between him and the board. He cited his resignation as to a 'breach of trust and confidence'.

According to the statement released by the club, “We can confirm that we have accepted Alan Curbishley's resignation as we feel it is in the best interests of both parties. We wish Alan all the success in the future. A shortlist of candidates is being drawn up and an announcement will be made in due course about the new West Ham United manager.”
